Most can accommodate a rollout trundle, but only a few have drawer options. Wood daybeds usually have more options in underneath storage. They can be more expensive but are usually more durable. Daybeds take regular linens but you will need a special comforter and skirt for it to fit a daybed properly. Large back pillows are needed it you intend to use as a loveseat during the day. Some daybeds are backless and they are easier to make up with regular bedding. The ones without backs are usually more casual looking.
Futons give a different option for the same space where you might use a daybed. They offer the comfort and style of a regular sofa and are available in full or queen size bed size for sleeping. Again you have many different options in looks and feels for comfort. A futon can be a quality and expensive looking alternative to a daybed or traditional sleep sofa. You are not limited by style or fabric choices these days. Due to new technology you can get a futon comfortable and durable enough for every night sleeping. There are many types of specialty mattresses now made to fit a futon. (Don't think cheap and uncomfortable).
